New resort hotel in the Las Vegas Arts District is staffing up ahead of its anticipated opening in February. Named for celebrity chef Todd English, The English Hotel head a job fair yesterday and one is slating to be held today. This is according to Steve Dennis, the general manager.
New Resort and Head Count Objectives for Employee Hires
The soon-to-be hotel which is four stories is on 921 S. Main Street at Coolidge Avenue. It is expecting to have a total headcount of 125 to 150 employees. This is according to Steve Dennis.
Before the job fairs, Dennis did indicate it had around 55 vacant positions. As of Monday, management did need to fill nine or 10 spots.
Slated for opening on February 22 or 2/22/22, the 74-room property is affiliating with hotel giant Marriott International.
The team is “already seeing a huge influx of reservations,” Dennis said it is based on Marriott’s system.
The English Hotel is not the only small hotel in Las Vegas. It was developing by real estate firm Z Life Co. It is considering a rare boutique property in a market that is dominated by chain resorts. They often have thousands of rooms, plus huge casino floors and a deep roster of restaurants, bars, entertainment, and other amenities.
The English Hotel is going to be “a refuge for guests that look to escape the Strip without straying too far.” Moreover, it will feature a “secluded pool and swanky outdoor lounge” and a restaurant from English is calling The Pepper Club.
The restaurant is Japanese-Mediterranean fusion as described by Dennis.
Also last summer, he said the hotel was a $30 million-plus project.
English offers restaurants in other states and parts of the Middle East, Asia, and Caribbean locales.
In Las Vegas, Dennis’ restaurant Olives has had a two-decade run at Bellagio. Then, he opened last year at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. Dennis also has a food hall-style eatery, The Beast, at entertainment complex Area15.
